At Josh Kastleman Drum Lessons in Tooele County, Utah, we’re proud to showcase the hard work and progress of our dedicated drum students. From beginner grooves to advanced rock performances, these students are developing their skills in powerful ways through personalized, one-on-one instruction. This week, several students recorded new songs in the studio—each demonstrating the results of focused practice, expert teaching, and the supportive environment our studio provides.

Aiden – “Master of Puppets” by Metallica

Aiden stepped up to the challenge with a high-energy performance of Master of Puppets, one of Metallica’s most intense and iconic songs. Originally recorded in 1986, the track features complex drumming by Lars Ulrich, known for his use of double bass and aggressive rhythmic style. Aiden’s ability to navigate the tempo shifts and intricate sections is a clear sign of his continued progress.Watch all of Aiden’s performances here: joshkastlemandrumlessons.com/aiden

Camden – “Train, Train” by Blackfoot

Camden delivered a bluesy, driving performance of Train, Train, originally released by Blackfoot in 1979. The song features drummer Jakson Spires, who brought a gritty Southern rock vibe to the band’s sound. Camden’s solid rhythm and confident playing style made this classic rock track come to life.Watch Camden’s performances here: joshkastlemandrumlessons.com/camden

Carter – “Livin’ on a Prayer” by Bon Jovi

Carter brought a big arena-rock feel to his studio performance of Livin’ on a Prayer. This anthem, released in 1986 and powered by drummer Tico Torres, requires great timing and control to match the song’s dynamic structure. Carter did just that—proving that consistent practice and expert guidance pay off.See more of Carter’s videos here: joshkastlemandrumlessons.com/carter

Kohler – “No Leaf Clover” by Metallica

Kohler tackled a unique Metallica piece—No Leaf Clover—which blends heavy rock with orchestral elements. Originally released as part of the 1999 S&M album, this track is another example of Lars Ulrich’s creativity as a drummer. Kohler navigated the tempo and feel changes with musical maturity, showing just how far he’s come.Watch Kohler’s drumming here: joshkastlemandrumlessons.com/kohler
