Camden Plays Rebirthing by Skillet on Drums | Tooele County Drum Lessons
Camden recently recorded another song in the studio during his weekly drum lesson at Josh Kastleman Drum Lessons. This time he took on "Rebirthing" by Skillet, an energetic and powerful rock song that challenges drummers with driving rhythms, dynamic transitions, and consistent endurance. Watch Camden's performance and see how students develop real drumming skills while learning songs they enjoy and building confidence behind the drum set. View all of Camden's drum performances: https://www.joshkastlemandrumlessons.com/camden "Rebirthing" was released in 2006 as the opening track on Skillet's album Comatose. The song helped establish Skillet as one of the most successful modern rock bands and remains a fan favorite thanks to its combination of hard-hitting rock instrumentation, orchestral elements, and inspirational themes. The song features powerful drum grooves that help drive the energy from beginning to end. The original drummer on the recording was Lori Peters, who was Skillet's drummer from 2000 to 2007. Her drumming played a major role in shaping the band's sound during some of their most successful years. "Rebirthing" showcases her ability to combine solid rock grooves with the intensity and precision needed to support the band's signature style. At Josh Kastleman Drum Lessons, students learn to play along with popular songs that match both their interests and current skill level. Every lesson includes reviewing challenging sections, improving technique, strengthening timing, and building confidence through real-world music. When a student has mastered all the parts of a song, they are given the opportunity to create a professional multi-camera studio recording. These recordings only take a few minutes and provide a fun way for students to document their progress and celebrate their accomplishments. After completing a recording, students receive a custom band sticker featuring the song they learned. These stickers are added to their binders and become a collection of milestones that grows with every completed song. Once a song is finished, the student and teacher select a new song together. The next song is chosen based on the student's goals, interests, and the skills they are ready to develop. The music is printed, added to the student's binder, and introduced during the lesson. Students also continue progressing through the Drums In Color curriculum, learning new beats, fills, rudiments, reading skills, coordination exercises, and timing concepts. Every completed chapter earns a reward sticker, and students accumulate reward points through both song completions and method book progress. These points can be redeemed for band posters and canvas prints. A typical weekly 30-minute lesson includes: • Song review and coaching • Learning popular songs • Technique and timing development • Professional studio recording opportunities • Drums In Color method book instruction • Drum fills and rudiment training • Reward stickers and achievement tracking • Personalized goal setting Benefits of drum lessons include: • Improved coordination • Better concentration and focus • Increased self-confidence • Stronger discipline and work ethic • Enhanced creativity • Stress relief • Goal achievement and motivation • Improved rhythm and musical literacy Josh Kastleman Drum Lessons provides drum instruction for students throughout Tooele County, including Tooele, Stansbury Park, Grantsville, Erda, Lake Point, Stockton, Rush Valley, and surrounding Utah communities.
