One of the most rewarding parts of drum lessons at Josh Kastleman Drum Lessons is seeing students turn practice into real performances. Recording songs in the studio gives students a clear goal, builds confidence, and shows just how much progress they’ve made. Recently, several students recorded classic and modern rock songs during their drum lessons, each one learning valuable skills through real music.

This song is a great workout for consistency, endurance, and locking in steady eighth-note grooves. Recording a song like this helps students learn how to keep energy high without rushing.

Why Studio Recording Is Part of Drum Lessons
Recording songs in the studio is a major part of drum lessons with Josh Kastleman. Students don’t just learn exercises — they learn full songs, play to a click, and record real performances. This builds confidence, improves timing, and helps students clearly hear their progress.
Lessons are available throughout Tooele County, Utah, including Tooele, Stansbury Park, Erda, and Grantsville. Lessons are customized for beginners through advanced students.
A key part of the teaching approach is the Drums In Color system. This color-coded drum notation helps students learn faster, improves rhythm recognition, and makes reading music easier, especially for visual learners and younger students.
