Another exciting week of drum lessons brought several impressive student recordings to the studio at Josh Kastleman Drum Lessons. Students continue to build their skills by learning songs from some of rock's most influential bands while developing coordination, timing, confidence, and musical expression.
This round of studio recordings featured Moses performing "I'm Just a Kid" by Simple Plan, Ronan performing "Like a Stone" by Audioslave, Aiden performing "Sunday Morning" by No Doubt, Camden and Kohler both performing "Rebirthing" by Skillet, and Kye performing "After Midnight" by Blink-182.
Each of these songs presents unique challenges and learning opportunities. From the energetic pop-punk grooves of Simple Plan and Blink-182 to the powerful rock drumming of Audioslave and Skillet, students are exposed to a wide variety of musical styles and techniques that help them become more complete musicians.

Originally released in 2002, the song helped define the early 2000s pop-punk era. What Happens During a Weekly Drum Lesson?
Each 30-minute lesson follows a structured approach that keeps students motivated while helping them make steady progress.
Students begin by reviewing the songs they are currently learning. Together, the student and teacher identify any sections that need improvement and work through them until they can be played confidently.
When a student masters a song, they are given the opportunity to create a professional in-studio recording using the studio's multi-camera recording system. These recordings allow students to showcase their hard work and create lasting memories of their accomplishments.
After the recording is complete, students receive a custom band sticker representing the song they learned. These stickers are added to their binders and become a collection of milestones throughout their musical journey.
The next song is then selected based on the student's interests, goals, and skill level. The music is printed, placed in the student's binder, and introduced during the lesson.
Students also continue progressing through the Drums In Color curriculum. This system helps students learn beats, fills, rudiments, reading skills, timing, and coordination using a color-based learning approach that makes drumming easier to understand and more enjoyable to learn.
As students complete chapters, they earn reward stickers and points that can be redeemed for band posters and canvas prints.
