Moses Plays I'm Just a Kid by Simple Plan on Drums | Tooele County Drum Lessons
Moses recently added another song to his growing list of drum performances by recording "I'm Just a Kid" by Simple Plan during his weekly drum lesson at Josh Kastleman Drum Lessons. Watch Moses perform this pop-punk classic and see how students develop real-world drumming skills by learning songs they enjoy while building strong fundamentals on the drum set. View all of Moses' drum performances: https://www.joshkastlemandrumlessons.com/moses "I'm Just a Kid" was released in 2002 on Simple Plan's debut album, No Pads, No Helmets...Just Balls. The song quickly became one of the band's most recognizable hits thanks to its relatable lyrics, energetic sound, and catchy drum grooves. The original drummer for Simple Plan was Chuck Comeau, whose driving pop-punk drumming style helped shape the band's signature sound and inspired countless young drummers around the world. At Josh Kastleman Drum Lessons, students learn how to play along with popular songs of their choosing that match their current skill level. During each lesson, students and teacher work together to identify and improve difficult sections of a song until every part can be played confidently. When a student has mastered a song, they have the opportunity to create a professional multi-camera studio recording right in the lesson studio. These recordings only take a few minutes and give students a fun way to showcase their hard work and progress. After completing a recording, students receive a custom band sticker representing the song they learned. These stickers are added to their binders, creating a visual collection of accomplishments and milestones throughout their drumming journey. Once a song is completed, the student and teacher select a new song together. The next song is chosen based on the student's goals, interests, and the techniques they are ready to learn next. The music is printed and added to the student's binder, and they begin exploring the new song together during the lesson. Students also work through the Drums In Color method system, learning new beats, fills, timing exercises, reading skills, and rudiments. Every completed chapter earns a reward sticker, and students accumulate reward points from both song completions and method book progress. These points can be redeemed for band posters and canvas prints. A typical weekly 30-minute lesson includes: • Song review and coaching • Performance preparation • Professional recording opportunities • Learning new songs • Drums In Color method book training • Drum fills and rudiments • Reward stickers and achievement tracking • Goal setting and skill development Benefits of drum lessons include: • Improved coordination • Better concentration and focus • Increased confidence • Stronger discipline and work ethic • Enhanced creativity • Stress relief • Goal achievement and motivation • Musical literacy and rhythm development Learn more about Josh Kastleman Drum Lessons: https://www.joshkastlemandrumlessons.com Sign up for drum lessons: https://www.joshkastlemandrumlessons.com/sign-up Learn about Drums In Color: https://www.drumsincolor.com Follow on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/stansburyparkdrumlessons/ Follow on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/joshkastlemandrumlessons/ #DrumLessons #TooeleCounty #TooeleUtah #DrumLessonsUtah #SimplePlan #ImJustAKid #PopPunkDrums #DrumsInColor #DrumTeacher #MusicLessons #DrumStudent #DrumCover #Drumming #JoshKastlemanDrumLessons #StansburyPark #Tooele #Grantsville #Erda #LakePoint #RushValley #UtahMusicLessons

Moses recorded another full song in the studio during his drum lessons, this time performing “Welcome to the Jungle” by Guns N’ Roses. Originally released in 1987 on the album Appetite for Destruction, this song helped launch the band into global recognition and remains one of the most iconic rock tracks of all time. Moses has been working on those skills in his lessons, focusing on groove, endurance, and staying locked in from start to finish. Recording in the studio allows students to apply what they’ve learned in a real performance environment and gives them something they can look back on as they continue to improve.
