Students are encouraged to learn songs they are excited about while also choosing music that matches their current ability level. Lessons cover timing, technique, fills, coordination, reading music, and the skills needed to become a well-rounded drummer. Once a student has mastered their song, they have the opportunity to record a professional studio performance using multi-camera live recording equipment. This creates a real performance experience and allows students and families to see their progress over time. After recording, students receive a collectible band sticker for their lesson binder. Each sticker represents another song successfully learned and becomes part of their personal drummer journey. Students then choose their next song with their instructor, selecting music that keeps them motivated while continuing to build new skills. Students also continue learning through the Drums In Color method books, developing drum notation skills, beats, fills, rudiments, and coordination exercises. Every completed chapter earns reward stickers, and students collect reward points that can be used toward band posters, canvas prints, and other rewards. The Drums In Color learning system helps make drum notation easier by connecting colors on sheet music with matching colors on the drum set.
